Welcome to the Monday chat corner!
This week’s topic is Yoda: Dark Rendezvous, a Legends novel published by Del Rey in 2004 in which the tiny green Jedi Master becomes a protagonist.
Has anyone read this one? It clearly belongs beside Shatterpoint, but it doesn’t make it into the same rec lists. Then again, majority can be wrong sometimes…

Date: 2023-10-02 09:17 pm (UTC)Okay, one, I adore Tallisibeth Enwandung-Esterhazy beyond all reason and I have not one but two WIPs where she becomes Anakin's Padawan and everything is better. I ♥♥♥ Scout so so so much.
Two, I always tend to think that if Sean Stewart's Yoda were the one we got in the movies, ROTS and probably AotC would not have happened because Y:DR!Yoda would do a much better job with Anakin in general. Like, that's the Yoda I at least wanted. The one who shows up on the screen is... well, I've talked before about how Lucas was writing Aaron Sorkin plots for the PT, and Yoda is IMO an example of that. (Think I've also talked before about the possible issues with Yoda being so long-lived and in a position of power in the Order for like the entire lifespans of a lot of the beings in the galaxy by the time of the PT and how that's a problem, and I think one time someone mentioned an attempt by the PTB to retcon/otherwise address this in the EU.)
