This is one of THE best Star Wars books of all time--up there with Matthew Stover's Revenge of the Sith and Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor (and yes, Shatterpoint!). Despite the title, it's not really about Yoda, although we do get a glimpse of how he views the world and his relationship with Dooku and the Jedi Order through the POV of the other characters, and he is a constant presence throughout. But the main character is Scout, a Jedi Padawan who makes up for her lack of Force strength with sheer grit and determination as she struggles to find her place in the Order, and she is fantastic, full stop.
We also get to see Dooku's tragic backstory, Asajj Ventress stealing every scene she's in, a gothic space planet full of evil carnivorous moss, over the top shenanigans in the best possible way, and loads of dramatic irony/foreshadowing for anyone who knows what's coming next.
Anyway, in case you can't tell, I love this book so much and I highly recommend it!! I think the primary reason that it doesn't make the rec lists is that it's so obscure--everyone I know who has actually read it loves it.
